While the importance of education for future success is a common truism communicated to students, the fact remains that young people are not getting the education they need and are dropping out of high school and college at alarming rates.
Get Schooled is a non-profit campaigning against this lack of enthusiasm trending among American youth. Through media, technology, and popular culture, Get Schooled engages and empowers students to take control of their education and graduate from high school to go on to succeed in college.
The Get Schooled initiative actively seeks out ways to communicate with students through the media popular to them. The organization connects with students using digital and social media sites. They also work directly with middle schools, high schools, cities, and school districts to help motivate school leaders and encourage students to become engaged in their schooling through strategies like national attendance competitions and teacher recognition contests. Their partnership with media organizations gets the word out on channels like MTV and Nickelodeon, and their celebrity ambassadors engage and reward students to participate in and finish school.
Get Schooled has made it an American mission to find new ways to engage students in their education. Become part of the movement and get involved in contests, programs, and other initiatives on the Get Schooled website.
