As this passion became a career, she began to work with various community organizations in California to help educate children and adults about martial arts. After moving to Chicago to live and work with her partner, Nancy Lanoue, they founded Thousand Waves Martial Arts & Self-Defense Center. She continues to teach and perform at national training camps, produced by the Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists and the National Women's Martial Arts Federation.
