About ten years ago, the Danish government established MindLab, an in-house laboratory that would serve as a center of innovation for the Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs. In the years that followed they conducted over 300 workshops both within the ministry and for a broad range of other public and private organizations. Then in 2007, a new strategy was set for MindLab. It would shift its focus to engage citizens and involve companies in developing new public-sector solutions. At the same time, it acquired two additional parent ministries to became the coordinator of intra-governmental cooperation. Additionally, MindLab took on a number of professional researchers in order to establish a more robust methodological foundation for its work. Today, MindLab has considerable experience with promoting collaboration across the public sector.
